Located near a charming Sicilian town on the small Island of Favignana, Butterfly of the Sea is one of the few homes in this area with a helipad available for landings.
Constructed on one level from two main structures connected by a central alfresco patio, the house affords views of the scenic landscape from almost every angle. The interiors include two living rooms, a dining area with garden vistas, and an ‘eat-in’ well-equipped kitchen in one building with a kitchenette in the other.
On the sweeping grounds, there’s a swimming pool, a solarium, and a roof terrace with a 360° view. Hidden away, yet very close to the town centre, this estate offers three bedrooms decorated in modern style with colour-washed walls in pale shades, contemporary fabrics, and bespoke furnishing by local Italian artisans. Set amid a lush olive grove, it also comes with a covered BBQ
patio and parking space.
The interior of the property measures 350 square meters and it can accommodate a total of six adults, with a double sofa bed available for two extra friends or staff. The interior design plays to the history, yet is very contemporary and features sandstone, a typical rock of the Sicilian coastline, resin floors and quality washed wooden boards. Modern yet very comfortable, this is a chic retreat full of light and a welcoming vibe. The estate comes with a Mediterranean garden and 15,000 square meters of private grounds.
Italy has great energy that comes from mixing history with different people from all over the world. In addition to the restaurants, shopping and nearby nature this is a culturally rich area in terms of museums, architecture and art. Several local restaurants and trattorias serve organic, local cuisine and each restaurant in the region is child friendly and offers a kid menu.
Activities locally include hiking, cycling and wine tasting and your concierge can help you hire bicycles, boats, and tents at the nearby beach clubs.
Please note: Water on the Island is a valuable resource since the Island lacks its water sources and water is supplied by tankers. We request you use water as necessary. Tap water is taken from the property well through an electrical engine and is good for cooking; for drinking we suggest you get mineral water.
